Fancy Fat Quarter Tote Pattern

I am so excited to finally be able to share my new pattern with you all!! It’s called the “Fancy Fat Quarter Tote”.

First things first, what is a “Fancy Fat Quarter Tote”? The FFQT is a tote I designed so we can utilize those beautiful, stray and yes, “fancy” fat quarters that we keep saving because we only have one!! I developed this pattern so we could finally showcase them in a beautiful bag that we can carry with us every day!

The FFQT is a handbag size tote that’s just the right size – not too big and not too small! And even though I created it for fat quarters, you will find so many other ways to use it. One way is to make a patchwork panel using some of your beautiful scraps. Or make the bottom out of quilting cotton and quilt it with batting for added structure. You can even use a larger piece of directional print fabric – let your imagination run wild!

What’s great about this tote? It’s a simple design that can be easily sewn by a beginner. But a more seasoned sewist can also have fun with it. Try different materials for the bottom such as cork or waxed canvas or leather. Dress it up with cork or leather handles or keep it casual with cotton webbing. Add some bag jewelry such as rivets and a bag-tag. You decide how “fancy” you want it to be!
