Art Gallery Fabrics Lookbook – “TWENTY”

I’m so excited to finally be able to show you the Fancy Fat Quarter Totes I made for the latest Art Gallery Fabrics Lookbook. The collection is called TWENTY (XX) and it is by designer Katarina Roccella. It’s called Twenty because it is her twentieth fabric collection. And what a gorgeous collection it is! It’s a combination of warm and cool hues and has stand-alone prints as well as blenders.

I was so happy when I was contacted about this collection. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to make my Fancy Fat Quarter Totes in two different colorways. I was torn between using three different fabrics from the collection for each tote or making the base from something sturdier like waxed canvas or cork. I consulted with the production designer and she stressed how much they would love it if I used three different fabrics. We decided that I would quilt the contrast bottom panel in order to give it more structure and I absolutely love the result. I will definitely be using that technique again.

As beautiful as this exterior fabric is, the fabric used for the lining is just as gorgeous. It’s a granite looking print called Terrazzo that comes in two colorways. I think it gives the inside of the bag a bit of a WOW factor! What do you think?
